Dear Simon Families,
Although several teachers in our community have called out sick today (November 2, 2020), instruction will continue asynchronously. Many teachers were able to provide instructional materials on Canvas for students to continue their learning. So, please look to Canvas for guidance on student work for today. Logging into Canvas will alsocapture your daily attendance.
This is also an opportunity for students to catch up on assignments, engage with our online platforms by accessing apps available through Clever, and hone their writing skills. Examples of assignments you might consider include:
1. Write a response/reaction to an interesting current event, book, or show
2. Find and enjoy e-books and digital audio books through Destiny Discover and Sora Overdrive, both available through Clever
3. Survey and compile data from family members about topics of interest
4. Explore the DCPS Living through History Cornerstone Student Time Capsules posted on the Smithsonian Learning Lab at https://learninglab.si.edu/profile/dcpscornerstones
